I am moving to Pittsburgh in four months, and I am FREAKING OUT. I don’t know a single person there, so how am I going to live my life without having the friends and companionship I have now back in Indiana? My conclusion: a cute, little, furry friend.
I didn’t come to this result on my own. I asked a lot of my single friends how they find comfort in living alone, and their answer was a pet. This led me to do a ton of research on animal adoption, and I have learned so much that I thought ‘why don’t I just turn this into a blog?’ And now here we are.
Animal adoption isn’t a simple task. There is a lot of reading and research to do so you know if you are ready to become the parent to a fur-ball. There are also a lot more ways to adopt than just walking in to a shelter and walking out with an animal.
Ohh, and don’t let me forget about the costs. Not everyone is in a place in their life where they are ready to adopt a pet. Vet bills, food, and toys are just some of the expenses that come along with having a fur baby. If you don’t think you can afford these things now, don’t worry because there are other options that let you play with and care pets as much as you want without having these types of costs (for example, volunteering at the animal shelter or becoming a dog-walker).
