In my opinion one of the best feelings in the world is knowing you helped an animal in need. It might be giving them a new home or donating money to a shelter to help feed and house them. There are so many organizations around the Lafayette area that put on special events to help these animals. If you are interested in making a difference in a pet’s life, check out some of the local events that will be happening soon.
My New Cat Rescue will be hosting a 3 day adoption event and they need volunteers. The event will take place Friday-Sunday, February 17-19, 2017 from 10-6 on Friday and Saturday and noon-6 on Sunday. The event will take place at PetsMart in Lafayette. If you don’t have time to volunteer, feel free to come by and spend a little time meeting the cats.
Loving Heart Animal Shelter is a no kill shelter on Veterans Memorial Parkway in Lafayette. They have several events coming up in the next month that you won’t want to miss.
On Tuesday, February 28, 2017, come out to Texas Roadhouse and bring/show this flier and 10% of your purchase will be donated to Loving Heart Animal Shelter.
Dance to some of the best 80’s music in your hammer pants and side ponytail on March 11 from 7:30-10:30P.M. at Carnahan Hall in Lafayette. You must be 21 years old to go and the price is $20 per person. To get tickets check out LHAS’s website. Get ready to dance the night away to raise money to help some local pets find homes.
You can always stop in the shelter to see the wonderful pets there, such as the Mutt of the Month, Daisy.
Almost Home Humane Society is one that I have a special tie to because this is where my family got our first puppy, Lady. Here are some upcoming events they are hosting:
