Catvertising at its Finest

An animal shelter in Virginia took a different approach to helping their cats get adopted last week. In honor of Homeless Animal Awareness Week, the shelter took some retro glamour photos of the cats in hopes to boost their chance at getting adopted. Chesapeake Humane Society  has already had at least one cat adopted because of these sassy photos. Each cat was priced at only $14 last week, and they plan to do more events like this in the future to help create awareness for the animals in the shelter.

“The inspiration for the photos was family photos gone wrong,” said Grulke, the executive director of the shelter. “We really did it for fun.”

Well I think the photos were a great idea. They are absolutely hilarious. I am hoping this inspires some of the shelters in Lafayette to do something similar in the future. If this makes you realize how much you’ve been dying to have a pet cat, head down to My New Cat Rescue and take a look at the little guys they have there. (I just visited and trust me, it’s worth it to at least hang out with them.)

Here is the whole story of the Chesapeake Animal Shelter for those who have time to read it. If you don’t, don’t be afraid to check out some of the clever photos.
