Winnie the Poodle, Cindy Clawford, & more

For many of you, the hardest decision when getting getting a new pet is figuring out what to name him/her. I had the same problem when trying to name my dog Prophet. When my family got him, I was determined to name him Princess. (I was only six at the time, so it just seemed fitting). My parents decided on Prophet because I live very near to Prophetstown and where the Battle of Tippecanoe was fought and my family is from Native American decent.

Not every name has to have special meaning behind it like Prophet’s name does. If you are struggling to find the perfect name for your new pet, it doesn’t have to be hard. Here is a list of the 20 most popular dog and cat names for males and females:

If you’re looking for something a little more unique, American Kennel Club and have lists of the most unique and uncommon names for your pet. Haha one of the names I found was Bungee Cord. I’m not sure if I would ever name one of my pet’s that, but it is definitely a name that I won’t forget.

Let me know your favorite pet names. There are a million out there, and I’d love to see which names are the most popular from all your pets.

Also, a side note…I will be live tweeting at the Strike Out Suffering bowling event put on by Almost Home Humane Society at 4 P.M. on Saturday, March 4. If you are interesting to see what the event is like, follow my Twitter @s_riddda5.
